After Jump Zone, I took them to Marble Slab. Marble Slab is just like Cold Stone. They got to choose their flavors and what to mix into their ice cream. One even chose banana with cookie dough. I know, doesn't sound very good, but she assured me it was very good. I think I will take her word for it. I think Megan had a good time with her friends. Happy Birthday Megan. We love you very much.
So, our last enrichment was on the 16th of May. We had an all day Super Saturday food storage/emergency essentials day. Now, this wasn't a day where you went from class to class learning about how to do your food storage. It was more about Hands on learning. We had several activities to do. One was making a no-rise 90 min. bread. They actually grounded the wheat, and mixed the ingredients, baked, and took their loaf home with them. We also dehydrated fruit leather using apple sauce and jello mix. Some were able to bring their bulk items and they used the canner and the Mylar sealer. We had an activity where they made fudge from pinto beans.( I know, it sounds really gross, but actually it is quite yummy. It must be good if I like it because I am so picky with stuff like that.) We had a class where they made can rotators out of card board boxes. It is a pretty clever contraption. Finally we put together 72 hour kits. This was my activity I prepared. It was very time consuming. The picture above is all the food and items I had stacked in my living room, ready to take to the church. I had no idea when I took that activity to do that there would be so many kits sign-up for. Most, liked the idea, cause then they could do it at enrichment and it was done. It was quite the chore to get all the stuff. Wal-mart customers thought I was crazy with the 159 tuna packages and 159 cups of soup mix. I got quite the looks from many who saw my cart packed mile high. Even at Sam's club, where people buy bulk all the time, gave me the looks. Cashiers would ask, what is all this for. We would explain about 72 hour kits and the church. All thought what a great idea and felt motivated to make their own kit. See, we even did a little missionary work with the preparations. Here are the items I included in each kit: 6 bottles water, 3 oatmeal packets, 3 hot chocolate packets, 3 granola bars, 3 cans of fruit, 3 tuna packets, 3 Ritz crackers packets, 3 cup-of-soups, 3 juice pouches, 1 jar of peanut butter, raisins and crasins, 1 roll of lifesavers, 1 package of gum, 1 poncho, 1 thermal blanket, no battery flashlight, 2 light sticks, 1 sm. first-aid kit, lighter, hand sanitizer and hand sanitizer wipes, plastic utensils, 1 roll of toilet paper, wet wipes, and a whistle. We put it all in an orange 5 gallon bucket w/ lid from Home Depot. We also had a table of food people brought from recipes from a particular food storage recipe book that my enrichment leader had. People could sign-up to order the book if they wanted. The food was good. I was pleasantly surprised. Well, that was our day. It was a good day, but I was glad it was over.
So, Emilee is losing her teeth all over the place. She just lost one front tooth about a week ago. Then she had a dental appointment for them to take out one of her molars in the back. It was abscessed and had to be removed. Now, Emilee does not do so well with the dentist. She freaks out even when they put water in her mouth, so we have a pediadentist we go to when ever she has to have more work then an exam. Last time she just had a minor bit of medication and the rubber nose over her nose. She screamed of course. This time they gave her a heavy dose of medication and used the rubber nose over her nose. She still screamed some. Well, I figured since she was heavily medicated, I would have them take out the other front tooth as well. She was out of it most of the day. I tried to get a picture of the back molar. I couldn't get a clear picture of it, but we called it her monster tooth. For both teeth, the monster tooth and the front tooth, the tooth fairy gave her $5. Pretty good, don't you think? Well, Emilee is doing great now as you can see. She is very cute toothless. I also think having no front teeth and a monster tooth gone has made her a bit more hyper lately. Like we need that, right? Now we are getting ready for new birthday pictures.......so stay tuned for that in the next couple of weeks.
When I went to Time Out for Women back in October, Hilary Weeks was one of the performers. This was actually one of the fun songs she did. I saw it on youtube, and was reminded how familar the lyrics were for me on a daily basis. I thought you would enjoy it, so I wanted to share. Enjoy!! We have a yearly pass to the children's museum. The kids really like to go. They love to dress-up. This is one of their favorite things to do. They pretend they are pioneer children. This is the log cabin, they pretend to live in. Megan is the cook and Emilee buys the stuff from the store (pretend store) across the street from the cabin. Hunter is around also, but he wouldn't get in the picture, the little stinker. They have lots of other stuff to do, but this is one of their favorites. Sorry the picture is not very good. I used my camera on my phone. I think you can tell though how much they like it. 
It took Jeremy longer to get down stairs. Here is Emilee waiting and waiting until dad came down.
In our home, the Easter Bunny provides an Easter Egg Hunt for the kids each year. Each child is provided with specific colors on their bag of what colored eggs they look for. The Easter Bunny is very fair. This is how he makes sure that each one of the kids gets the same amount of eggs. The eggs sometimes have candy, prizes, and sometimes even money inside them. Here, Hunter is opening his eggs to see what treasures the Easter Bunny has left for him.
Here is Megan and her Easter basket. She got a password journal in her basket. Emilee got a Tinkerbell craft and Tinkerbell bracelet, and Hunter got a Spiderman web shooter. Of course they all got that great Easter candy. Let's just hope they keep it away from mom and dad.
The kids are looking at the treasures from their egg hunt. This year there was no money, but each one had a watch inside one of their eggs.
We are ready for church now. Every year growing up, my mom always bought me an Easter dress. Even when I got home from my mission, she still took me out to buy a new dress for Easter. Of course, I do the same with my kids. Here they are in their new Easter clothes. I think they look so fantastic. 
Megan really wanted purple shoes with her dress. We hunted, and hunted for them. I can't believe we found some. We must have looked at all the shoes stores in Huntsville and do you know where we ended up finding them? Children's Place of all places. Go figure.
Emilee asked to wear my pearls. These were my grandmother's real pearls, so she always feels really special when I let her wear them.
The watch Hunter found in his Easter egg was a Star Wars watch. He couldn't wait to go to church and show his primary class his new watch. Usually when it is time to go to church, Hunter is not always enthused. Today was the exact opposite. About an hour in a half before we had to go, he kept saying, "Is it time. I can't wait. We have to go now." He was so excited to show his new watch to his friends.
